Motivation


Jay and I have been getting back into gym mode lately...Since we normally go in the evenings I thought it would be a good idea to do the 30 Day Shred in the mornings before I shower and get ready for work. But as I have said a billion times I am NOT a morning person and when the alarm goes off I proceed to hit snooze three times and sleep the extra 30 minutes...Last night I pulled out the DVD and set up my free weights to keep me from wandering around looking for stuff and then using it as an excuse to go back to sleep. I hyped myself to get up and work out but once the alarm went off I most definitely snoozed it again. I need some motivation to get up in the mornings!!!! Anyone have any ideas?? It doesn't make sense to do it in the evening since we already spend at least 45 minutes to an hour at the gym...

I have ZERO motivation in the morning. Alarms are one of the worst sounds in the world, imho. ;-) Just stumbled on your blog!

Oh I feel exactly the same about morning workouts! It is so hard to deny yourself the extra sleep! Simple as it seems, go to bed 30 - 45 minutes earlier and it seems to help. Sounds so obvious but it's something we never consider! Good luck!

Getting up 30 minutes earlier would mean 4:45 for me...ouch. On one hand, I am always motivated by the idea that if you get it over with in the morning, then you are done! You can even take a nap later in the day guilt-free. If you are going to the gym at night for an hour...why in the world do you need to do the extra 30 in the a.m.?

Not sure how it happened, but I became a morning person. I used to love to sleep until my kiddos woke me, but now I am up atleast an hour before. I guess once your in the groove it sort of just happens.

I hate mornings. I snooze many times, many!

It sounds like you already have a good exercise regimen anyways. Why are you trying to wake up to and work out with that exercise nazi? lol

You must like torture ;)
